4th of July Parade 2011
Date: July 4, 2011
- Expected Attendance: Over 5,000 spectators and growing
- Number of Parade Participants: More than 2,000 People
- NEW Parade Route: The 1.5 mile parade route starts at Glen Oak Elementary School, travels east on Orange Road, proceeds south on Old State Rd. and ends on Little Bear Loop.
- Those of you interested in joining NDA for the parade should meet us before the parade begins. You do not have to contact the office to participate. You can just show up! Parade formation begins at 8:45am at Glen Oak Elementary School. All applicable roads close at 9am and the parade will begin at 10am. The parade continues in rain or shine (unless there is lightning).NDA is #25 in parade. Row 13.
- Parents that would like to drop off their children at the NDA float at Glen Oak Elem. and watch the parade can park in general parking at Little Bear Golf Club. You will be able to meet your dancer at Little Bear Loop at the end of the parade route. Look for the NDA float! Directions to Glen Oak Elem: enter Blue Holly Drive coming from either Orange Rd by railroad tracks OR more easily from S Old State. (Ashcreek Dr to Snapdragon to Blue Holly: no road closures to deal with from this direction). Extra parking at Glen Oak Park is available.



Important information for ALL parade participants:
- We would like everyone to wear their new NDA shirt (white with rainbow colors). If your dancer is participating in the parade and does not have a shirt, please contact the office to pick one up. We would also like dancers to wear soffe shorts (any solid color) and comfortable tennis shoes. Our goal is for everyone to match and look like a "unit".

*Email that was sent out had incorrect dates. Please note correct dates.
- Dancers ages 3-5 who would like to ride on our float may wear their recital costume (in good condition) with matching shoes and hair styled appropriately. Make sure your dancer is comfortable riding on the float while smiling and waving during the parade.
- Those of you handing out NDA parade gifts/candy must understand that we are not allowed to throw items into the crowd at any time! All items must be HANDED to parade viewers.
- The parade does not go in a circle. Be prepared to meet your dancer promptly at Little Bear Loop when the NDA float arrives.
